Membership to South Sound Chess Club is free. However, registration to US Chess Federation is not.
To play USCF rated events, you must be a member of the national federation, and you can sign up by going to the following link and signing up there:

When you arrive for events, you will register for the South Sound Chess Club via Google Form at no cost, and you will be expected to provide your USCF ID ahead of showing up to our events.
